Major medical center in the Hudson Valley

Motto: “Resilience and Renewal”
Motto Meaning / Theme:
It succinctly captures the essence of the hospital’s history, its ability to overcome challenges, and its commitment to providing ongoing care and hope to its patients.
The motto “Resilience and Renewal” takes on an even more chilling significance with this darker context. On the surface, it suggests hope and recovery, but it also hints at the hospital’s deeper, more sinister activities—where “renewal” might mean something entirely different, like the unethical preservation of life through medical stasis.
This duality adds a layer of irony and tension to the story, making the motto not just a guiding principle but also a subtle clue to the hidden horrors within the hospital. It could serve as a constant reminder to both the characters and the readers that not everything is as it seems at Archangel Medical Center.
Description:
Started as a small hospital during the Civil War. Founded by two Jewish doctors. The original structure was in the High Victorian Gothic architecture style. Later, in the 1930s, the hospital was rebuilt when a meteor struck the building, causing massive damage. The new main hospital building was more modern, built in a dark-gray, Brutalist and Art-Deco style. All subsequent campus buildings were also built to match the style. The meteor is now in a display case in the lobby of the main building, along with a plaque and pictures of the original hospital.
